Beach Shades... LOL
The sky is again a charcoal grey...
It is a dreary, yucky looking winter's day!

Time to pull down the backlit beach scene shades...
or just hop a plane and run away! :evillaugh:

Almost 27 years ago now.... there was a wonderful restaurant in the Kansas City metro area called "The Greenhouse"...actually, it was "somebody's" Greenhouse... but, for the life of me, I simply cannot recall the name of the somebody! Anyways, the place was a mecca for plant lovers... the comfy tables, and cozy booths, were located under huge glass panels that extended out from the main roof. Plants of various varieties, both trees and flowering plants, were strategically placed so that the diners got the impression that they were enjoying their meals... in what would be referred to in an Regency period romance novel... as a private conse

The First SnowFirst Snow

Snowflakes falling slowly down.
One by one they hit the ground.
Soft like whispers all around.
They melt away without a sound

Now raise your eyes up to the sky.
And see them gently floating by.
Falling from the clouds up high.
Like teardrops spilling from your eyes.

The sky begins to slowly clear.
The sun peaks out, clouds dissapear.
Winter may be drawing near,
But for now it isn't here.

SWIPPS...My sweet hubby Bob's family has had a long standing tradition of allowing the member having a birthday, to select the menu for their birthday dinner. With this in mind, when our daughter Lindsay was just a few months from being 3 years old, I asked her what she thought that Daddy might like for his birthday dinner, the following evening.

Lindsay exuberantly replied "Swipps"!

I stared in over-worked mom confusion, and said "Baby, what are you talking about? What are swipps"?

"SWIPPS"! she replied. "Daddy likes them"!

I reluctantly replied "Golly, I wish I knew what you were talking about..."

All because she wore jeans... a true story!

I was born in October of 1954, and born into the last generation of little girls who weren't allowed to wear pants to grade school. Oh, on cold winter mornings, we could wear our corduroy slacks to school... but, just as soon as we arrived in our classroom, all the young ladies had to go directly to the cloak closet (every classroom had one at the back of the room) and remove our corduroys, and either hang them up, by one of the belt loops, or fold them neatly, and place them on a shelf underneath the pegs that hel

I am absolutely thrilled to debut another collaboration with our phenomenal and very kind Cindy

My lovely friend wrote her beautiful poem to complement my photograph.

Text, in case of obscurity, reads as follows:

I watch the waves throw themselves
at the shore’s rocky feet, wet its face with
kisses, slide down ragged crevices,
fall back into the sea.

Always reaching, always longing,
I weep with the desire moaning
in that constant movement, the
yearning in whispers of want.

But with each pass, the water wears
away more resistance, like a gentle
hand passing over skin, taking a token
of its heart’s desire with each caress.

So, I will lay my heartache on this altar
of undying affection and let it go,
my tears washed away in this
eternal dance of sea and stone.
